Air Serv's Volunteer Efforts to Assist Disabled, Elderly Victims of Hurricane Katrina on Delta Flights Earn Praise for Efficiency, Professionalism

Company also providing job opportunities, donations for hurricane victims

ATLANTA ( Sept. 6, 2005) - Beginning Thursday, September 1 and through the weekend, Air Serv headed to the front lines of the relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Katrina, taking charge of the entire process of assisting stranded victims in wheelchairs on three flights from New Orleans to Atlanta.

Air Serv's tremendous volunteer effort began Thursday with a Delta flight from New Orleans carrying approximately 20 disabled and elderly passengers confined to wheelchairs. With about 20 minutes' advance notice, Air Serv employees immediately responded to the challenging logistical process of securing wheelchairs for those special needs individuals, transporting them onto buses and then the aircraft, and assisting them to their hotel rooms in Atlanta.

Throughout the process, Air Serv employees were commended for their efficient, professional handling of such a high-profile situation by Delta crew and other notable individuals who were present, including Delta CEO Jerry Grinstein, Worldport Vice President Greg Kennedy and news media from most major networks.

"We've heard of all the things that are happening there from our employees, of other adults grabbing children because they're not with parents, about alligators that are now among the dead people," says Leon Scott, Air Serv general manager for the Atlanta region. "It's a great feeling knowing we can do our part. Taking care of these disabled people and the elderly is our specialty. We welcome any of those situations."

Air Serv's contributions to the relief mission extend much further. Heading into the weekend, the company was planning to open job opportunities to displaced victims of Hurricane Katrina who decided to remain in the Atlanta area. In addition, a company-wide drive for items like canned food, bottled water and toiletries generated dozens of boxes and bags of these goods for hurricane victims, which were distributed to victims in New Orleans and those who had relocated to Atlanta.

"We're also planning on taking some of our old company jackets, I think about 160 of them, removing the logo and donating those to the victims," Scott said.
