EMPLOYEE ROSE WOOD, 50 OTHERS WIN SERVICE AWARDS
AT AIR SERV'S CINCINNATI ANNUAL EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION
CINCINNATI, OH - Celebration was the mood at the annual Air Serv employee recognition lunch as 120 employees and their spouses, managers and clients gathered for the awards luncheon on December 6.
Fifty people won awards from the 110% Club, which represents 10 percent of their current work force of 500, up from 150 employees last year. The winners were announced with a PowerPoint presentation showing a photo of each person at work with their name listed underneath.
"As each person was announced, the whole crowd cheered and applauded," said General Manager Mike Ostendorf, "We started the presentation with the song We Are the Champions by Queen, and it seemed to really get people in a celebratory mood."
Each winner walked up to the stage as his or her name was announced and was presented with a certificate and a check for $110.
The Customer Service Award, a new award given to the top customer service agent, was given to Rose Wood. As the theme song from Rocky played, Rose accepted her trophy and a certificate.
John Alford, Customer Service Above Wing Manager, commented on how nice it was to see people dressed up for the occasion. "We only see a lot of these folks in their uniforms every day, so it was nice to see them out of uniform. Everyone seemed to really be enjoying themselves."
Mike, who planned the event, reported that it went extremely well and he heard many positive comments. "We took photos of everyone who won, but many of them came up afterwards also and wanted their own personal pictures taken with me, John or Paul DeBellevue, Regional Manager. We heard comments from people that this event was really awesome and nicer than last year."
Each year a few people from eight different client companies are invited to the event. Carol Zupancic. Director of Delta in Cincinnati, attended with a few of her managers. "They were very pleased with the lunch," Mike said. "She said it was good to see Air Serv put on that kind of event and give something back to its employees."
Mike is already planning next year's event and plans to start taking photos of employees in January to make a video presentation that will play at the event as people file in.
