Safety
Air Serv's Executive Team has been a pioneer in airport security initiatives. In addition to establishing a stringent employee screening
program and safety audits in its own company, our leadership has aggressively championed industry reform on a national level.
As an example, John Montgomery, our Vice President of Safety, spent 16 years with American Airlines in Ground Safety and Environmental Safety. Through his leadership, Air Serv has developed the industry's most comprehensive solution for employee screening and security risk prevention.
AirServ's Management regards an effective ES&H (Environmental, Safety and Health) Program as a vital component of its corporate commitment to its employees, passengers, the public it serves, and its operational success. The prime mission/goal of the ES&H Department is providing a safe, secure and hazard-free work environment and to establish the "best in class" ES&H program. To achieve this goal, an aggressive ES&H strategy has been incorporated into all Department activities and all personnel are held accountable for fulfilling their responsibilities under this program. AirServ realizes such a program is essential to the corporation's vision and mission statements, its core values, and fundamental beliefs. AirServ considers safety not only essential to the core business of its operations, but also mandatory for its competitive advantage. AirServ acknowledges safety excellence as an integral part of all activities and believes that all accidents and incidents are preventable.

AirServ's current OSHA employee-lost-time-incident rate stands at 1.1, down from the 2003 rate of 1.7 and well below the aviation industry lost-time rate of 8.4. Our year to date 2004 aircraft incident rate per 10,000 departures is .25 for all contacts and .063 for insurance related claims, all substantially below the aviation industry's average.
Recently AirServ's Cincinnati, Washington Dulles, and San Francisco ramp operations were awarded the Corporate Outstanding performance award for operating a total of 191,000 accident free departures. The Corporation has operated a total of 200,000 departures with only one insurance related claim. |
