At Air Serv, we currently provide skycap services to a number of airports around the country. We train our skycaps to greet all passengers in a positive and friendly manner and to be efficient in transferring their baggage from cars, buses or taxicabs to the screening area.
As an integral part of the screening and security process, skycaps identify passengers, compare their identification with their tickets and also issue boarding passes and claim checks. They must tag and identify all passenger bags with the correct routing tags for international or domestic flights. At times, they may be required to handle oversize baggage such as kennels, sporting equipment or shipping boxes. We make sure our skycaps are fully trained on how to identify and properly handle hazardous materials and follow security regulations.
All Air Serv skycaps use computers to quickly read and interpret flight schedules and gate information as well as last minute changes. They also are responsible for communicating wheelchair needs to our dispatchers to ensure prompt pick-up of a passenger needing assistance.
"The airlines could take a lesson from Kenneth about how to treat customers. I believe he went far above his duties in helping us out and I would recommend him for any type of employee of the month or year award you may have. In my opinion, he also deserves a raise! That's the kind of employee you want to keep! "
